Title: Authorizes Low-Income Access to a Broader Range of Care Centers by Repurposing Medicaid Funding
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that authorizes low-income Michiganders access to a broader range of care centers by repurposing Medicaid funding.
Authorizes low-income Michiganders access to a broader range of care centers by repurposing $16 million in Medicaid funding for the following, including (Sec. 5):
To pay outstanding obligations of the county for the repayment of principal and interest on any loans made to the county under the Emergency Municipal Loan Act; and
For the payment of principal, premium, if any, and interest due during a fiscal year on bonds issued by that county under the Fiscal Stabilization Act.
Requires that additional distributions only be used for the following, including (Sec. 5):
The operation, maintenance, or expansion of an existing county jail facility or juvenile facility;
The acquisition, construction, and equipping of a new jail facility or juvenile facility; and
Court operations.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 5).
