Title: Expands Health Care Access in Rural Michigan
Vote to pass a bill that expands healthcare access in rural Michigan through amending restrictions on the funding Michigan hospitals receive from the state budget.
Expands state Medicaid and healthcare access for rural hospitals via amending restrictions on the funding Michigan hospitals receive from the state budget (Sec. 110a).
Appropriates $26 million from the general budget to improve rural hospital access and services to low-income residents (Sec.110a).
Defines “rural hospital” as a hospital with at most 50 staffed beds located in a county with a population of not more than 195,000 and within a city, village, or township with a population of not more than 15,000 based on the 2020 federal decennial census (Sec. 110).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 110a).
