Title: Authorizes Adult Children to Remain on a Parent's Private Health Plan Up to Age 26
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes adult children to remain on a parent's private health plan till age 26 in Pennsylvania.
Authorizes adult children who have not attained individual health insurance coverage to remain on a parent's private health plan till the age of 26 in Pennsylvania (Sec. 1).
Prohibits health insurance companies from denying or restricting dependent coverage based on any of the following, or a combination thereof, including (Sec. 3):
The presence or absence of the child's financial dependency on any other person;
The residency of the child, whether by location, including service area or by residency with any other person;
The marital status of the child;
The child's enrollment in an academic or vocational educational institution; or
The child's employment status.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 5).
