Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that authorizes historical vehicle owners to register personalized license plates in Michigan.

Highlights:

• Requires a owner of a historic vehicle that is applying for a historic vehicle registration plate or a renewal of a historic vehicle registration plate does the following (Sec. 1):

• Pay a fee of $30.00 for a standard plate or $150.00 for a personalized plate;

• Certify that the vehicle is owned and operated solely as a historic vehicle; and

• Certify that the vehicle is safe to operate on the highways.

• Requires personalized plates to comply with the following (Sec. 1):

• Plate must bear letters and numbers as prescribed by the Secretary of State;

• Plate must be made of the same material as standard plates; and

• Plate must not duplicate another registration plate.
