Title: Prohibits K-12 Teachers from Discussing Gender or Sexual Orientation
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits K-12 teachers from discussing gender or sexual orientation in Louisiana.
Prohibits teachers, school employees, or other presenters at a school from engaging in the following discussions with students in grades kindergarten through twelve (Sec. 1):
Discussing the topics of sexual orientation or gender identity in any classroom discussion that deviates from curricula approved by public school governing authorities;
Discussing the topics of sexual orientation or gender identity in any extracurricular academic, athletic, or social activity under the jurisdiction of the school; and
Discussing a student’s own sexual orientation or gender identity.
