Vote to pass a bill that amends the California Emergency Services Act to develop policies and procedures providing guidance specifying how a law enforcement agency and other agencies are involved in emergency warnings are required to continue after a missing person report has been issued.

Highlights:

• Amends the statewide Feather Alert for missing Indigenous peoples (Sec. 1-2).

• Defines “Feather Alert” as a notification system designed to issue and coordinate alerts for endangered indigenous people, specifically indigenous women or indigenous people, who are reported missing (Sec. 1-2).

• Requires the California Highway Patrol, local law enforcement agencies and tribes to collaborate over policies and procedures (Sec. 1-2).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 1-2).
