• Increases the duties of county child welfare agencies and probation departments in California and requires tribes and their representatives to be contacted within the critical first 24 hours (Sec. 1-4).

• Requires probation officers and social workers act quickly once they learn of a child’s unexplained absence from a foster home, residential care facility, or school (Sec. 1-4). 

• Specifies that under the legislation, notifications would go out to (Sec. 1-4):
