Title: Authorizes Students to Allege Political Bias Against Professors
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes students at higher education institutions to allege political bias against them in Arizona.
Authorizes students at public universities and higher education institutions to allege political bias for lower grades against them in Arizona (Sec. 1).
Defines “public university” for this bill as a university under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Board of Regents (Sec. 1).
Establishes the Grade Challenge Department and specifies that if they find political bias, it could require any faculty member of a public university to regrade the student’s assignment or reevaluate the student’s overall class grade (Sec. 1).
Authorizes students who lose their cases before the department to appeal to the Arizona Board of Regents (Sec. 1).
Specifies that students may only allege political bias, not racial, religious, or other possible sources of bias (Sec. 1).
Exempts defining political bias from the purposes of this bill (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 1).
