Vote to pass a bill that establishes new guidelines for students, families, and school districts during residency disputes - specifies students can not be disenrolled until their guardian has had an opportunity to appeal the decision, a hearing has been offered, a court order has been issued, or information is provided regarding the rights of homeless students in Pennsylvania.

Highlights:

• Specifies that even if the parents or guardians of a child do not currently reside in the school district they cannot disenroll their kid from school until the following conditions are met (Sec. 1): 

• They have a chance to appeal;

• Until the parents have been provided notice;

• Until the parents have been given information from the school's liaison for the homeless; and 

• A court orders the disenrollment.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 2).
