Vote to pass a bill that establishes a process for the sale of derelict or abandoned aircraft in Ohio.

Highlights:

• Defines terms related to aircraft and aircraft services (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that before perfecting a lien for an abandoned aircraft, the director of a public-use airport shall search the appropriate records of the airport and contact both the FAA registration branch and the Office of Aviation to determine the name and address of the last registered owner (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that within twenty business days after receipt of the information and before disposing of a derelict aircraft, the director of the local airport will try to contact owners of the aircraft and individuals who are interested in the aircraft on what can be done with it (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that after 36 days of dereliction and refusal to be claimed the airport director may choose to sell the aircraft at public auction (Sec. 1).
