Title: Repeals Certain Cosmetology Licensing Requirements
Vote concur with House amendments and pass a bill that repeals certain cosmetology licensing requirements in Georgia.
Repeals certain cosmetology licensing hour requirements in Georgia for various services including for (Sec. 1-2):
Applying make-up cosmetics;
Shampooing; and
Blow-dry styling
Defines “Blow-dry styling” for this bill as the practice of only shampooing, conditioning, drying, arranging, curling, straightening, or styling hair using only mechanical devices, hair sprays, and topical agents, such as balms, oils, and serums, and exempts mechanical devices including any flat irons or curling irons (Sec. 1-2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 3).
