a vote to pass a bill to expands amount of international medical licensees valid to work and practice in Arizona

Highlights:

• Authorizes the New Mexico Medical Board to grant provisional Licenses to engage in the practice of medicine in the state to any international medical licensee that meets the following specifications (Sec. 1). 

• Has an offer from employment; 

• Has a federal immigration status that authorizes a person to work as a physician; and

• they meet the requirements for licensure.

• Specifies that if the license is terminated for any reason the board shall terminate the provisional license (Sec. 1). 

• Requires that the physician be subject to competency examination by the international board at any time (Sec. 1).
