Title: Promoting Access and Affordability of Prescription Drugs
Vote to pass a bill that promotes access and affordability of prescription drugs in Massachusetts.
Specifies that a pharmacy benefit manager license is only valid for a period of 3 years before it must be renewed (Sec. 36).
Prohibits “spread pricing,” where the contracted price for prescription drugs differs from the amount the pharmacy benefit manager pays the pharmacy (Sec. 36).
Requires coverage for an identified generic drug for diabetes, asthma, and the prevalent health condition to have no cost-sharing (Sec. 27).
Prohibits the cost of copay for identified brand name drugs from exceeding $25 (Sec. 27).
