Title: Prohibits Source of Income Discrimination for Rental Units
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits source of income discrimination for rental units in Michigan.
Specifies that Landlords cannot do the following based on source of income of an eligible prospective (Sec. 1):
Terminate a tenancy;
Make any distinction or discrimination against individuals based on source of income;
Deny any rental unit;
Create a price point distinction for individuals based on income source;
Claim that the a unit is not available for inspection or viewing;
Exclude rent vouchers or subsidies from being able to make rent;
Attempt to discourage individuals from seeking tenancy;
Publish or circulate any communication discouraging tenancy; and
Assist or coerce an individual to violated this act.
Specifies that this does not apply to individuals who have fewer then 5 tenancies in the state (Sec. 1).
