Vote to pass a bill that prohibits source of income discrimination for rental units in Michigan.

Highlights:

• Specifies that Landlords cannot do the following based on source of income of an eligible prospective (Sec. 1): 

• Terminate a tenancy; 

• Make any distinction or discrimination against individuals based on source of income; 

• Deny any rental unit;

• Create a price point distinction for individuals based on income source;

• Claim that the a unit is not available for inspection or viewing; 

• Exclude rent vouchers or subsidies from being able to make rent; 

• Attempt to discourage individuals from seeking tenancy; 

• Publish or circulate any communication discouraging tenancy; and 

• Assist or coerce an individual to violated this act. 

• Specifies that this does not apply to individuals who have fewer then 5 tenancies in the state (Sec. 1). 

• Defines terms related to tenancy (Sec. 1).
