Title: Prohibits Non-Compete Clauses in the Healthcare Industry
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits non-compete clauses in the healthcare industry in Pennsylvania.
Prohibits employers from enforcing non-compete covenants and declares them void, unless the non-compete covenant no more than one year and the practitioner has not been dismissed (Sec. 4).
Requires an employer to notify the patients of a healthcare practitioner following the practitioner’s departure of the following, including: (Sec. 5)
Their departure;
If the patient chooses to receive care from the departed practitioner or another practitioner, how the patient can transfer health records to the practitioner instead of with the employer; and
That the patient may be assigned to a new healthcare practitioner if they choose to keep receiving care from the employer.
Establishes an effective date of January 1, 2025 (Sec. 7).
