Title: Reduces Building Construction Requirements for Housing Developments in Urban Areas
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that reduces various building construction requirements for housing developments in urban areas in Washington.
Requires cities and counties planning under this chapter to enforce land use regulations for residential development including that (Sec. 1.1):
Garage and carports may not be required to meet minimum parking regulations;
Parking spaces that count towards minimum requirements can be enclosed or unenclosed;
Parking spaces in tandem must count towards meeting minimum requirements at a rate of one space for every 20 feet;
Tandem as having two or more vehicles within a single means of ingress or egress;
Existence of gravel surfacing will not prohibit the utilization of the parking space;
Parking spaces may not be required to exceed twenty feet by twenty feet;
Any county planning under this chapter may not require off-street parking; and
Parking spaces that consist of grass may count towards minimum parking requirements;
Exempts parking spaces that do not meet the requirements of this section to be resized and existing paved parking spaces (Sec. 2).
