Title: Establishes the East Bank Development Authority for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the East Bank Development Authority for the metropolitan government of Nashville and Davidson County in Tennessee.
Defines terms related to municipalities and economic authority (Sec. 1).
Establishes the East Bank Development authority to promote economic development in Nashville and Davidson County (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the authority has the following powers (Sec. 2).
Adopt, amend, and repeal bylaws;
Execute contracts;
Employ individuals;
Retain third party contractors;
Enforce compliance with the rules and regulations;
Acquire personal property;
Accept and distribute grants;
Borrow money and issue bonds;
Procure the delivery of goods and services;and
Do and perform each and every act and thing and have and exercise the powers set forth herein that the Board, in the Board's sole discretion, deems necessary, convenient, or appropriate, to accomplish the purposes of this act.
Specifies that this authority shall be governed by a board of directors (Sec. 3).
Specifies the membership of the authority (Sec. 3).
Specifies what the authority can borrow money for including public works projects (Sec. 4).
Specifies that he property within the East Bank is subject to the land use regulations of the Metropolitan Government (Sec. 6).
