Title: Establishes a 10 Day Waiting Period for the Purchase of Any Firearm
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a 10 day waiting period for the purchase of any firearm in New York.
Defines “Dealer in firearms” and “Firearm” (Sec. 1).
Specifies that no firearms dealer in the state of New York shall deliver a firearm unless ten days have passed from the date the dealer initiated the national instant criminal background check of the purchaser and has passed said background checks (Sec. 1).
Specifies exemptions from this act including law enforcement officers, licensed gunsmiths, and firearms loaned solely as props (Sec. 1).
