Vote to pass a bill that extends the timeline for employees to file human rights charges against employers in Illinois.

Highlights:

• Increases the time frame that a human rights charge in writing can be filed with the Department by an aggrieved party or issued by the Department itself under the signature of the Director from within 300 calendar days to within 2 years after the date that a civil rights violation has allegedly been committed (Sec. 7A-102).

• Requires the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 7A-102).
