Vote to pass a bill that increases criminal sentencing for destruction of property in organized retail theft incidents for high-value items in California.

Highlights:

• Establishes and creates sentencing enhancements for taking, damaging, or destroying property in the commission or attempted commission of a felony, as specified. By adding new sentencing enhancements, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program through January 1, 2030 (Sec. 1-2).

• Requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state and specifies statutory provisions that shall establish procedures for making that reimbursement but specify that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason (Sec. 1-2).
