Title: Establishes a Presidential Preference Primary Election
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a presidential preference primary election in Idaho.
Establishes a presidential preference primary election during a presidential election year (Sec. 1).
Specifies the presidential preference primary be held in conjunction with the primary elections held pursuant to section 34-102 of Idaho Code (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the secretary of state to identify the names of candidates recognized by each party for the presidential election (Sec. 1.2).
Specifies this identification takes place on the 10th Wednesday before the primary election (Sec. 1.2).
Authorizes the secretary of state to certify this list of candidates to the county clerks by the tenth Friday before the primary election (Sec. 1.2).
Requires the secretary of state to share the results of each political party with the state chair after the state canvas for the presidential preference primary is completed (Sec. 1.3).
Authorizes the respective political parties to use the results of the presidential preference primary at its national convention (Sec. 1.3).
Specifies that this chapter does not mandate a political party to adopt the results of the presidential preference primary (Sec. 1.3).
Specifies that a declared emergency authorizes this act to be in full force and effect after its approval (Sec. 2).
