Title: Amends and Updates Various State Laws for Military Veterans
Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that amends and updates various state laws and policies for military veterans.
Specifies that a disabled veteran only needs to show the DMV a document from the VA with evidence of their disability to get a handicap placard (Sec. A).
Requires that the cost for veterans to get a military specialty license would be covered and repeals the additional $15 fee for veterans to display their medal of honor on their license plate (Sec. A).
Establishes a full state tax deduction for military and National Guard enlistment and reenlistment bonuses and awards veterans who served on active duty or as National Guard members from 2001 to 2021 (Sec. A).
Requires the Missouri Veterans Commission to work with the Department of Mental Health to find ways to fight veteran suicide (Sec. A).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect January 1, 2025 (Sec. B).
