Vote to pass a bill that requires extra information for wrongful conviction compensation in Kansas.

Highlights:

• Requires individuals who file lawsuits for wrongful conviction compensation to prove additional information (Sec. 1).

• Requires a waiver of extradition proceedings as a condition of release before trial for any individual charged with a felony stating that the individual consents to extradition to Kansas, waives all procedures incidental to extradition proceedings, and acknowledges that they shall not be released before trial in any other state pending extradition to Kansas. (Sec. 1).

• Amends and changes the compensation rates to daily instead of yearly rates, limiting housing assistance to said individuals (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall be in force immediately upon publication in the state statute book (Sec. 3).
