Vote to pass a bill that requires compensation for minor social media influencers in Minnesota.

Highlights:

• Requires compensation in total gross earnings for minor social media influencers with an online platform in Minnesota (Sec. 1).

• Defines “online platform” for the purposes of this bill as any public-facing website, web​ application, or digital application, including a mobile application, as well as the following (Sec. 1);

• A social network;

• Advertising network;

• Mobile operating system;

• Search engine;

• Email service; or

• Monetization platforms to sell digital, streaming, paid subscriptions, or internet​  access services.​

• Authorizes minors to seek legal action for punitive damages and relief for violations found under the provisions of this bill (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect July 1, 2025 (Sec. 1).
